Milani Fierce Foil Eyeshine in Milan: Swatches and Review by Erin Baynham

Milani Fierce Foil Eyeshine in Milan The first time I heard about these Milani Eyeshine quads was just a few days ago. Daydreaming Beauty posted images on them via Facebook, and I went a little psycho over them. I immediately shared her image on Facebook, threw on my coat and went to my nearest drugstore to hunt them down. I found all four quads at my local CVS for $10. I did some swatching and posted a video on  the Florence quad on Facebook and Youtube.

Isn't it gorgeous?

These are cream eyeshadows, and they don't always work on me. Since my eyes get oily, I knew I had to apply this over Too Faced Glitter Glue. It's one of the only bases thats colorless and helps it stay put. I thought about applying translucent powder over the shadow and in the crease, but I was afraid I'd lose some of the luster.

Here are the swatches from the quad.

Here's a picture from six hours later. As you can imagine on oily eye lids, there was a bit of fading in the crease area. However, as an oily girl, this is the norm for me. My eyes are slightly hooded, so there was a bit of eye shadow In my crease area, and a teeny bit of shimmer below my lower lash line. I'll definitely try adding a little powder next time. The verdict? These have some pretty decent staying power. For $10, you can't really beat it. For more information, you can check them out here on the Milani website.

Here's a quick video of the "Florence" quad:

Milani Bella Eyes are 30 Shades of Awesome by Erin Baynham

Milani Bella Eyes Review and Swatches, Bella Sand, Bella Gold I have to start this post by saying I haven't liked Milani shadows for a long, long time. Ever since they discontinued the single eye shadows years ago, I haven't been impressed. So when I saw this display unit and made eye contact with the new formula, I instantly had hope of the good old days.

Milani says:

A gel powder – what would that even look like? We’ll tell you: It looks like rich, vibrant color that glides on in a single stroke, delivering a stunning multi-dimensional effect. What makes it a gel powder? Well, the formula starts as a gel and then is transformed by a special process into a stunning powder eyeshadow with pure color and power wear.

The unique process allows you to blend this incredibly innovative, weightless formula easily with your fingertips to light up your eyes. Even more to entice: It can used wet or dry, resists creasing, and comes in satin matte, shimmer and iridescent metallic finishes. You just have to try this gel powder. It’s that different.

This formula is called a gel powder. That makes no sense to me. It didn't feel like a gel to me at all.

There are actually really, really good! I took swatches on my hand using no base and I got really good color payoff. In my mind, that's what an eye shadow should do! You can get these at drugstores near you, or hear at Milani.com.

Don't Spend A Ton... by Erin Baynham

Why spend on pricey cosmetics when you can shop without being hassled at your local pharmacy or supermarket? I am a big advocate in the "you get what you pay for" theory. But a bargain is never a bad thing. Here are a few categories were being frugal are a benefit.

Lipgloss-I have

L'Oreal glosses

that are just as pretty as my

Nars

. Shop around, you would be surprised at how many department store knock-offs you can find!

Mascara-Every great celebrity makeup artist out there is a fan of two mascaras, L'Oreal Voluminous and Maybelline Great Lash. Need I say more?

Eye Shadows-If you use the right base, you can make virtually any eyeshadow pop. Milani makes an awesome selection of colors, as well as the cheapest. They even sell eye shadow quads and sets so that you can make a quick selection! I'll be doing an exclusive story on Milani soon!
